Region 1 Medical Center Provides Free Eye and Dental Care to Pangasinan Residents
Residents in Bani, Pangasinan were given a chance to avail free screening for glaucoma and cataract during the Oplan Balik Tanaw (OBT) mission on March 10 at the town’s Manpower Development Center Plaza. The OBT is a joint initiative of the R1MC Eye Center, R1MC Multi-Sectoral Governance Council, R1MC Office of Strategy Management (OSM), R1MC Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Office of Provincial Governor Ramon “Mon-Mon” V. Guico III.
The event, which was held in coordination with Board Members Nong Fontelera and Apple Bacay, Bani Mayor Facundo “Boying” Falafox Jr., Bani Vice Mayor Gwen Palafox-Yamamoto, and Western Pangasinan District Hospital, also brought the R1MC Dental Section’s services free of charge to the town’s residents.
Qualifying patients were scheduled to undergo eye surgery at the R1MC Eye Center in Dagupan City under the OBT program. This leg of the OBT is the result of an agreement entered into by the medical center with Pangasinan First Legislative District under Cong. Arthur F. Celeste on February 24.
The OBT mission is part of the medical center’s commitment to provide quality health services to communities in the region. Through this initiative, residents in underserved areas can access essential health services and receive treatment for their conditions, which would otherwise be unavailable to them.
