In a bid to blend technological innovation with sustainable practices, SM Supermalls takes a giant leap toward the future by introducing the first-ever FREE in-mall E-Vehicle Charging Stations at SM Urdaneta Central. The initiative aims to make eco-friendly alternatives more accessible to the public, setting a precedent for green initiatives within the retail sector.

Visitors to SM Urdaneta Central need not worry about navigating the expansive mall grounds to find these charging stations; their electric blue branding makes them easily visible in the parking areas. With straightforward instructions – “Grab, Pop, Plug!” – the user-friendly stations are designed to make the charging process as simple as possible.

Located in the basement parking near the entrance stairs, SM Urdaneta Central currently hosts two free charging stations. The charging process is a breeze: users can grab the cable from the Wallbox, extend it to their vehicle, pop open the charging port, plug in the charger, and wait for the white light to turn green, indicating that the vehicle is charging. To unplug, users can wait for the green light to revert to white, unplug the charger from the port, and return the cable to the Wallbox.

The Wallbox Pulsar Plus 7.4KW AC chargers at SM Urdaneta Central support a range of popular e-Vehicle brands, including Audi, BMW, Fiat, Ford, GMC, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Hyundai, among others.

The introduction of E-Vehicle Charging Stations aligns with SM Supermalls’ commitment to creating a safe and sustainable environment for mallgoers. According to SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan, “Part of that commitment is building a greener environment for everyone.”
