A Fresh Bite at Silantro: Urdaneta’s Fil-Mex Favorite Finds a New Home
I finally got the chance to revisit Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina, now in its new location along Urdaneta City Bypass Rd., Brgy. Nancayasan, Urdaneta City, and wow, what a glow-up!

If you’ve been a fan of Silantro like me, you probably know them for their hearty burritos, loaded nachos, and those Mexican-style steaks that hit all the right spots. But to be honest, their previous branch along Bayaoas Road left a lot to be desired. It always felt too dark, a bit gloomy, and the parking setup? Hay naku, it was a puzzle to figure out. Most times I’d drop by, there were barely any diners, and the whole place just gave off this sad, almost forgotten vibe. Eventually, I stopped going.

This new spot is a total game-changer.
Though the restaurant is a bit smaller now, the interior is brighter and more inviting, with their signature fresh green palette giving off a relaxed and cheerful ambiance. The space feels cozy, clean, and simply more alive. There’s this renewed energy that’s hard to miss, not just in the surroundings but in the staff themselves. You can tell they’re happier here, more upbeat, and genuinely enjoying their work. Ang gaan ng vibes!
It’s the kind of place you actually want to linger in. Grab a plate of their famous nachos, a cold drink, and just enjoy the moment. I left with a full belly and a happy heart, and honestly, I can’t wait for my next visit.

If you’ve been holding back because of the old setup, this is your sign to give Silantro another shot. Good food tastes even better when the place feels right, and now, it finally does.
