Ramon Guico III: A Progressive Leader and Champion for the People of Pangasinan
Ramon “Mon-Mon” Velicaria Guico III is a prominent Filipino politician and the current Governor of Pangasinan. Born on March 19, 1975, in Quezon City, Philippines, Guico comes from a family with a strong political background, with his father Ramon Guico Jr. being a former Municipal Mayor of Binalonan and the National President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines from 2001 to 2010. His mother, Arlyn Grace V. Guico, is a pharmacist and the President/CEO of WorldCiti Medical Hospital.
Guico is well-educated, having obtained his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (1997), Certificate in Professional Education, and Master’s degree in Education (2004) from the University of the Philippines Diliman. He also earned a doctorate degree in Public Management from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila in 2005. In addition to his education, Guico pursued his interest in aviation and aeronautics and became a licensed commercial pilot.
Prior to his governorship, Guico served as representative for Pangasinan’s 5th congressional district from 2019 to 2022 and as the mayor of Binalonan from 2010 to 2019. His commitment to public service and political experience have made him a popular and well-respected figure in the region.
Guico is married to Maan Tuazon Guico, and the couple has four children. He is known for his dedication to the people of Pangasinan, and his governance is characterized by his efforts to promote economic development and improve the standard of living for the residents of the province.
