Tricycle Birth as Pangasinan Police Deliver Baby Outside Station

With no time to move her, responding officers carried out an emergency delivery inside the tricycle stationed in front of the police facility. Despite the lack of medical equipment, the officers managed the situation and safely delivered a healthy newborn.
Police Brigadier General Dindo R. Reyes commended the personnel for their quick response and composure. “This is the heart of what we do,” Reyes said, emphasizing that police service extends beyond law enforcement and includes responding to all types of emergencies, including childbirth.
Following the delivery, personnel from the San Jacinto Rural Health Unit and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office transported the mother and newborn to Mapandan Community Hospital for further care. Authorities said both are in stable condition, adding that the incident highlights the continued commitment of PRO 1 to provide responsive and humane public service.
