How to get to Colibra island

f you’re planning to visit Colibra Island, you need to go to Tambobong Beach first, which is the jump-off point to the island. Here’s how you can get to Tambobong Beach from Manila by commute:

  1. Take a Victory or FiveStar bus from Cubao to Alaminos or Bolinao. The travel time is around five hours, depending on the traffic.
  2. Get off at Alaminos Bus Station and proceed to the Victory Liner terminal, which is just a walking distance from FiveStar.
  3. Wait for a bus going to Sta. Cruz and get off at Dasol town proper.
  4. Hire a tricycle to Tambobong Beach. It’s a short ride, and the tricycle fare is reasonable.

When you reach Tambobong Beach, it would be better if you already have a resort in mind so the tricycle driver can drop you off to that area. There are several resorts to choose from, ranging from budget-friendly to high-end accommodations.

Once you’re settled in, you can now hire a motorboat to go to Colibra Island. Some resorts in Tambobong Beach own a motorboat that goes to the island. You can book a motorboat with them when you book your room accommodations. The boat rental to Colibra Island usually includes an island hopping tour to Crocodile Island, which is another attraction in the area.

It’s essential to note that the boat ride to Colibra Island can be bumpy, especially during the monsoon season, so be prepared and bring motion sickness tablets if necessary. Also, make sure to bring enough cash with you as there are no ATMs or banks in the area.
