Pangasinan Breaks Ground for Landmark Reflecting Pool Project
Pangasinan, Philippines – Pangasinenses are now rejoicing as the province embarks on a transformative journey with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Reflecting Pool and Interactive Fountain Project at the Provincial Capitol Complex on November 8. Led by Governor Ramon V. Guico III, Vice Governor Mark Ronald DG Lambino, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, and DPWH RO1 officials, the ceremony symbolized a momentous step towards economic growth and development in the heart of Pangasinan.
The construction project, described as a historic first for the province, is set to redefine the Provincial Capitol Complex, reflecting the vision of the present administration to establish Pangasinan as a premier province known for great opportunities, sustained socio-economic growth, and an enhanced quality of life.
During the ceremony, Governor Guico emphasized the symbolic nature of the reflecting pool, stating that it mirrors the dreams that have now become realities and projects that have been concretized. He envisions the Capitol landscape as a culturally enjoyable, iconically inspiring, intellectually engaging, and historically nostalgic space.
Expressing gratitude to Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano, Governor Guico acknowledged their roots in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, and their substantial contribution of P100 million for the Reflecting Pool and Interactive Fountain Project. Additionally, the Cayetano siblings funded a P75 million expansion of the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital.
Governor Guico assured the public that the provincial government will adhere to the necessary environmental and historical protocols, seeking an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) and approval from the National Historical Commission. He highlighted the importance of following proper procedures, reflecting the administration’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance.
The governor also revealed plans for the Pangasinan Linear Park at the heart of the province, open to the public for gatherings and set to become a significant tourist attraction celebrating local culture and heritage.
As the Reflecting Pool and Interactive Fountain Project takes shape, Pangasinan is experiencing a surge in infrastructure development, with Governor Guico declaring 2023 as the ‘Golden Age of Infrastructure for Pangasinan.’ Notable projects include the Pangasinan Link Expressway and the P238 million Bangus Breeding and Hatchery Facilities in Bolinao.
Vice Governor Lambino emphasized that the groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of a series of envisioned projects that will bring positive changes benefiting the people of Pangasinan. The event was attended by Chiefs of Hospital, Department Heads, consultants, FADZ+Casanova, Inc., Industron Fountains, members of the media, other line agencies, and employees, signifying broad community support for the transformative developments in the province.
