Pangasinan Hosts First Quarter Meeting of Local Cooperative Development Officers
Pangasinan, Philippines – The Provincial Government of Pangasinan hosted the First Quarter Provincial Meeting of Local Cooperative Development Officers on February 6, 2023, at the Capitol Resort Hotel in Lingayen. The event brought together 32 Local Cooperative Development Officers from the province to discuss the government’s support for the development of local cooperatives.
Atty. Baby Ruth Torre, Provincial Legal Officer, emphasized the administration’s commitment to promoting local products and industries through the development of cooperatives. She noted that this aligns with the Governor’s goal of providing sustainable livelihood opportunities for the residents of Pangasinan.
The Cooperative Development Authority Region I, represented by Regional Director Atty. Frederick Joe N. Robles, shared its plans and programs to support cooperatives in all the provinces of the region, including Pangasinan. The meeting also marked the official organization of the provincial chapter of the Liga ng mga Cooperative Development Officers sa Pilipinas (LCDOP), with the selection of the board of trustees and officers.
The meeting provided a platform for local cooperative development officers to exchange ideas and discuss ways to advance the development of cooperatives in Pangasinan. With the government’s support and the efforts of the Cooperative Development Authority, local cooperatives are poised to play a crucial role in driving socio-economic progress in the province.
