Provincial Health Office Leads Successful Mobile Blood Donation Drive in Pangasinan

The Provincial Health Office (PHO) recently organized a successful mobile blood donation drive in Kapitolyo, Pangasinan. The event was held on Valentine’s Day and was led by Governor Ramon Mon-Mon Guico III with the theme “Dugo Mo, Dugtong ng Buhay Ko” (Your Blood, The Extension of My Life).

The initiative, which aimed to gather blood donations from government employees, was a recommendation by Provincial Administrator Melicio “Ely” F. Patague II. The collected blood will be taken to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital Blood Bank and will be used for emergency cases such as pregnant women, accident victims, and employees who urgently require it.

The PHO invited several offices to participate in the blood donation drive, including the Pangasinan Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Office, the Provincial Population Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, the Public Employment and Services Office, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and the Provincial Health Office. Army reservists and police officers were also invited to donate blood.

The Provincial Health Office’s target was to collect 50-80% of the population or 150-250 employees’ blood. The event was a success as many employees voluntarily donated their blood, showing their love and care for their fellow Kapitolyo workers.

Patrick L. Rosario, the Prov’l Voluntary Blood Services Program Manager of PHO, expressed his gratitude to all the donors and organizers of the event. He also encouraged more people to participate in blood donation drives to save more lives.

The PHO’s mobile blood donation drive was a testament to the government’s commitment to help those in need and promote public health awareness. Through initiatives like this, the government hopes to make a positive impact in the community and inspire more people to participate in similar events in the future.
