Dagupan City leads bloodletting activity in commemoration of Fire Prevention Month
Dagupan City, Pangasinan – The Dagupan City Fire Station, LGU Dagupan, and Region 1 Medical Center led a bloodletting activity yesterday, March 7, in commemoration of Fire Prevention Month this March.
The city also participated in the simultaneous Kick-off Ceremony of the 2023 Fire Prevention Month attended by various government agencies such as PNP Dagupan, BJMP, CDRRMO, POSO, and the Red Cross, Panda Fire Volunteer Group, Malued Fire Brigade, CSI, and Star Plaza Fire Brigade.
According to BFP Dagupan CInsp Michael Escaño, other programs lined up for the month include Project BTF (Barangay task Force) where barangay task forces will be trained in fire protection, safety, and first aid as first responders in their respective communities.
The Junior Fire Marshal, one of Mayor Belen Fernandez’s child-friendly programs, will also return to train children on fire safety awareness.
The campaign aims to strengthen the knowledge and information of every Dagupeño in fire prevention, its dangers, and the necessary actions to take because “In fire prevention, you are not alone!”
The bloodletting activity was part of the campaign to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood and its life-saving benefits. This year’s Fire Prevention Month slogan is “Sa pag iwas sa sunog, hindi ka nag iisa!” emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in fire prevention and safety.
The city government encourages everyone to participate in the activities lined up for Fire Prevention Month to help in strengthening the community’s preparedness and resilience against fire incidents.
